Our client is an established organization in the property management industry seeking an experienced accounting professional to support its financial operations. This is an opportunity to join a professional team and contribute to property-level accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger activities.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with previous property accounting experience to support day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations, along with hands-on experience using RealPage and OneSite.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and maintain accounting transactions associated with property management operations.
- Prepare, review, and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and research discrepancies to ensure proper account balances.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Review property-related financial activity and verify transactions are correctly categorized.
- Assist with monthly closing procedures and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
- Utilize property accounting systems to manage financial data, record transactions, and maintain accurate reporting.
- Work closely with the Controller to address accounting matters and support ongoing financial activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Senior Accountant or Property Accountant position.
- Strong property accounting background required.
- Proficiency with RealPage or OneSite software required.
- Thorough understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
