Pay: $45 - $55 / hr
Purpose:
To provide temporary accounting support to ensure the timely and accurate processing of cash transactions, and completion of monthly financial close activities during the ERP implementation and stabilization period.
Objectives:
The temporary accounting resources will support the Accounting and Finance team by:
- Maintaining daily cash posting activities.
- Assisting with month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Scope of Services:
1. Daily Cash Posting and Reconciliation
The temporary accountants will:
- Record and post daily cash receipts and disbursements in the accounting system.
- Review supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve routine cash posting discrepancies.
- Assist with daily bank activity monitoring and cash reconciliations.
- Communicate unusual transactions or reconciling items to management on a timely basis.
- Maintain organized records of cash posting activities and supporting documentation.
2. Monthly Close Support
The temporary accountants will assist with:
- Preparation of month-end journal entries.
- Account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Review of balance sheet and income statement accounts for completeness and accuracy.
- Analysis and resolution of reconciling items.
- Preparation of supporting documentation required for management review.
- Assistance with financial reporting packages and close deliverables.
- Other routine accounting tasks that are necessary to support a timely monthly close process.
3. Documentation of Current Processed
The temporary accountants will work with members of the accounting team to document processes in a format to use for the Archway implementation.
Deliverables:
The temporary accountants will provide:
- Daily cash postings completed within established processing timelines.
- Completed account reconciliations and month-end close workpapers.
- Documentation of processes as required.
- Timely communication of outstanding issues impacting financial reporting.
Required Qualifications:
Resources should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of general accounting experience at a senior accountant or similar level.
- Experience with month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Yardi.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Reporting Structure:
Temporary accountants will report directly to the Controller and work closely with members of the accounting team to ensure continuity of operations during the implementation period.
Assumptions:
- The temporary resources will be provided with necessary access to appropriate systems, training, and documentation.
- Management and Accountants will provide guidance regarding accounting policies and procedures.
- Work will be performed in accordance with established accounting policies and internal controls.
This scope is designed to provide operational continuity while ensuring the integrity of financial reporting throughout the transition period.
