Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist – Behavioral Health
Location: Remote – Dallas/Fort Worth Area Candidates Only
Pay: $26–$28/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview
Addison Group is hiring for our client, an established behavioral health organization in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, seeking an experienced Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its Revenue Cycle team.
This position is responsible for managing insurance AR, resolving denials, following up on outstanding claims, and ensuring accurate reimbursement for behavioral health services.
Behavioral health billing and collections experience is required. The ideal candidate has a strong background in medical AR, understands insurance reimbursement processes, and is comfortable independently managing accounts through final resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding medical claims
- Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies
- Contact insurance carriers to investigate unpaid or underpaid claims
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to verify proper reimbursement
- Resubmit corrected claims and follow up through resolution
- Audit patient accounts to identify billing errors and outstanding balances
- Post insurance payments and account adjustments accurately
- Assist with insurance eligibility and benefits verification
- Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans
- Communicate with patients, insurance carriers, and internal staff regarding billing questions
- Prepare AR aging reports and other Revenue Cycle reports
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Meet established productivity and accuracy expectations
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of medical Accounts Receivable or insurance collections experience preferred
- Behavioral health billing and collections experience required
- Strong understanding of medical insurance claims, denials, and reimbursement
- Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Ability to research and resolve complex billing and payment issues
- Experience reviewing EOBs and identifying reimbursement discrepancies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong experience working within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Experience with InSync preferred, but other EHR systems will be considered
- Medical coding knowledge is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
