About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a growing construction services organization to identify an Accounting Manager to support one of its expanding business units. This client operates in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and is experiencing strong growth, making this a key hire to support both current operations and future scalability.

This role is fully onsite and ideal for someone who enjoys owning the full accounting function within a small but rapidly expanding business.

Job Description:

The Accounting Manager will serve as the primary accounting resource for a standalone operating division. This is a hands-on role focused on managing daily accounting operations, payroll, financial reporting, and month-end close. The position is best suited for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, working independently, and supporting a business that is actively scaling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Own full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and close processes
  • Manage payroll processing using a third-party provider, including review of work orders, time submissions, and compliance requirements
  • Track and reconcile work orders, ensuring costs are captured accurately and align with budget expectations
  • Partner with operations and field teams to resolve missing or incomplete time and job documentation
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts and analyze variances against actual performance
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting best practices as the business grows
  • Support equipment and vehicle purchases, tracking, and financial documentation
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to leadership to support decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction, electrical services, or a project-based environment
  • Strong payroll experience is required
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and transactional accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reporting, data exports)
  • Experience with construction or service-based ERP systems strongly preferred
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently

  • This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports initially
  • The business unit is approximately $5M in revenue with significant growth projected

  • Standard hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with minimal flexibility
