Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Strong background in full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR compliance
  • Experience using HRIS platforms; BambooHR and Viewpoint Vista experience is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, PivotTables, and macros
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Prior experience supporting construction, civil construction, or related industries is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and employee lifecycle processes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Job Description:

Addison Group is hiring an HR Generalist on behalf of our client, a growing organization in the civil construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working across all areas of Human Resources while partnering with leadership to support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday
  • Flexible daytime schedule (typically 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting activities including job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, candidate communication, and offer preparation
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and deliver an exceptional candidate experience
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, system access, employee documentation, and onboarding workflows
  • Monitor onboarding milestones and conduct follow-up check-ins during the employee's first several months
  • Administer employee benefit enrollments, life event changes, and assist employees with benefits-related questions
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS platforms and process employment changes including hires, promotions, transfers, and separations
  • Generate HR reports, workforce metrics, and organizational data as requested
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
  • Assist with employee relations matters, documentation, coaching support, and exit processes
  • Support compliance initiatives including I-9 administration, employment verification, leave administration, workers' compensation coordination, and HR recordkeeping
  • Help maintain HR policies, employee handbook updates, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate learning and development activities, employee training assignments, certifications, and compliance tracking
  • Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, company meetings, and internal communications
