Addison Group Keeps PE-Backed Global Manufacturer on Track Through Leadership Transition and Sale Preparation

A private equity-owned global manufacturer needed seamless interim finance leadership when their Corporate Controller faced a serious health issue, as the company was preparing for a potential sale.

Challenge

For a private equity-owned global manufacturer with $258M in annual revenue, finance leadership continuity carries weight in any environment. But when the company’s Corporate Controller experienced a serious health issue that limited their ability to perform the role fulltime, the timing made the stakes even higher: the organization was actively preparing for a potential sale.

The Controller had owned some of the most complex and consequential work in the finance function, including global consolidations across multiple entities, foreign currency accounting and intercompany eliminations, and the monthly close and financial reporting cycle. With Quality of Earnings (QoE) work already underway and executive leadership operating under deal-driven pressure, the team needed support quickly.

They needed someone who could step into a sensitive moment, integrate into the team without friction, lead the department through close and consolidation, and deliver clean, defensible numbers for QoE under tight timelines. Without the right person, the company risked missing deliverables, stalling deal momentum, and adding strain on a finance team already managing a difficult situation.

Solutions

Addison Group placed an interim Controller with direct experience in global consolidations and foreign exchange (FX). The brief covered both the day-to-day book of work and the deal-driven workstream running alongside it.

The consultant owned monthly close, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and FX through the
engagement. They also organized, analyzed, and presented financial data supporting the QoE report, which contributed to the successful completion of the sale.
