Location: Boston, MA (Open to monthly office visits)

Job Type: Contract (1-2 Years)

Pay Rate: $80-85 Hour

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a senior Workday Security Lead to own the design, governance, and optimization of the Workday security model. This role will lead enterprise security initiatives across access design, compliance, audits, and long-term strategy, ensuring scalable and secure solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

You’ll partner closely with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and Compliance to drive access governance, role design, and security controls across the Workday environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage Workday security (security groups, domain policies, business process security, RBAC)
  • Lead access governance, audits, segregation of duties, and compliance initiatives
  • Oversee provisioning, role assignments, and security operations
  • Establish security standards, documentation, and control frameworks
  • Support Workday releases, testing, and ongoing system enhancements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure secure integrations and processes
  • Mentor team members and guide enterprise security strategy

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of enterprise application security experience, including deep Workday security expertise
  • Proven experience leading security governance, audits, and compliance (SOX, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of access controls, segregation of duties, and audit readiness
  • Workday Security Administration Certification required (HCM Pro preferred)
  • Experience with at least two Workday implementations, ideally in healthcare
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
