The company offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is seeking an experienced Employee Relations professional who can confidently navigate complex workplace matters while partnering closely with HR and business leadership.
Job Description:
The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist will serve as a key resource for leaders, employees, HR Business Partners, and the broader Human Resources team. This individual will manage a high volume of employee relations matters, conduct workplace investigations, provide guidance on performance and disciplinary issues, and help ensure employment practices are handled consistently and appropriately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume portfolio of employee relations cases, which may include 40-75 active matters at a given time.
- Investigate employee complaints, workplace concerns, alleged misconduct, and potential policy violations.
- Provide managers with guidance on performance concerns, corrective action, disciplinary decisions, and conflict resolution.
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners to develop appropriate strategies for complex employee situations.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Review employee relations matters to promote consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
- Recognize patterns across cases and recommend improvements to policies, processes, manager practices, and workplace culture.
- Provide support related to leaves, workplace accommodations, workers' compensation, and other employee-related matters.
- Educate and coach managers on effective employee relations practices and company expectations.
- Contribute to broader HR projects and organizational initiatives as needed.
- Document and track employee relations activity through the organization's case management/ticketing system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline required.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Several years of hands-on Employee Relations experience required.
- Background may include dedicated Employee Relations positions or HR Generalist/HR Business Partner roles with significant ER responsibility.
- 2+ years of experience leading employees, teams, or HR functions.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and handling sensitive employee matters.
- Proven ability to manage a large and continuously changing employee relations caseload.
- Strong knowledge of performance management, corrective action, employee complaints, and workplace conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and consultation skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidently navigate ambiguous or complex situations.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
Additional Details:
- This position can be performed remotely but travel is expected to be limited and may occur approximately once per quarter based on business needs.
- Experience with a case management/ticketing platform is helpful.
