Job Responsibilities:
•Data Collection and Management:
- Collect, organize, and maintain geographic data using GIS software and tools.
- Update and verify existing geographic datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS databases.
Spatial Analysis:
- Conduct spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within geographic data.
- Generate maps, charts, and reports to communicate spatial analysis findings to team members and stakeholders.
Map Production:
- Create high-quality maps for various purposes, including presentations, reports, and publications.
- Customize map layouts and designs to effectively convey information to end-users.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform quality assurance checks on GIS data and outputs to ensure data integrity and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with team members from different departments to understand their GIS needs and requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather data requirements and provide GIS-related support and assistance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience or coursework in GIS is preferred but not required.
