Job Description:
The Front Office Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in daily front desk operations. This position supports patient flow by handling registration, scheduling, insurance verification, phone coverage, and payment collection while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients in a friendly, professional manner
- Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information
- Schedule, confirm, and update appointments; monitor schedules for changes
- Answer and route incoming phone calls promptly
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances and process payments
- Prepare and maintain patient records within the EHR system
- Assist with patient check-out and schedule follow-up visits
- Process forms, documentation, and medical record requests
- Support daily charge and payment posting and basic reporting
- Maintain office supply inventory and assist with administrative tasks
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and office policies
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth office operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior healthcare or front desk experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort using computers, phones, and standard office equipment
- Professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM (occasional closing shift until 6:30 PM)
- Includes two weekend shifts per month **only 2.5 hour shift on those days**
