We’re partnering with a growing organization seeking a Credit Specialist to support their finance team. This individual will play a key role in evaluating credit risk, managing accounts receivable, and driving healthy cash flow while maintaining strong customer relationships.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit terms and limits for a portfolio of B2B customers
- Review and release orders on hold due to credit concerns, ensuring timely processing and shipment
- Manage collections using a relationship-first approach to recover past-due balances while preserving customer partnerships
- Monitor aging reports, follow up on outstanding invoices, and proactively address payment delays
- Investigate root causes of late payments and implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and minimize bad debt
- Evaluate delinquent accounts and escalate when necessary, including coordination with third-party collections
- Process credit applications and review trade references and financial data to assess risk
- Partner cross-functionally with sales and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and payment issues
- Maintain accurate customer account records, including contact details, credit limits, and tax documentation
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least one year of experience in an accounting, credit, or accounts receivable environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes
- Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Additional experience in credit analysis or B2B collections
- Familiarity with ERP systems
