Job Description
An Addison Group client seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join their finance team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounts payable experience, including time spent in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and thrives under deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, including matching, batching, and coding
- Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and process weekly/biweekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all vendor payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and reporting
- Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all AP transactions
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and AP best practices
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
