Addison Group Keeps AI-Powered Finance Transformation on Track for National Franchise
A restaurant franchise parent company needed to rebuild its accounting organization after divesting a brand that didn’t fit its core business while simultaneously preparing for a critical finance systems implementation.
Challenge
The client had an urgent need to build a new accounting function from the ground up. When the franchise group separated from one of its restaurant brands and split into two companies, the departing brand retained the existing accounting team. While the client initially attempted to create the team internally, significant turnover across key roles left the organization without the necessary talent to support a complex systems implementation.
At the same time, the client was preparing for a high-stakes implementation involving NetSuite, RAMP for AP automation, FloQast for reporting, and Sage for fixed assets. Because RAMP relies on accurate coding to learn how invoices should be categorized and routed into NetSuite, the work needed to be done correctly from the start, as the goal of this project was to teach the AI tool the proper coding mechanisms for system automation. Any coding errors could create downstream invoicing issues and slow the broader implementation.
The client could not afford to be understaffed or risk avoidable coding errors during a mission-critical implementation with a firm go-live timeline.
Solution
With the implementation already underway, the internal team needed a partner who could move quickly and understand the technical requirements behind the project. Addison Group was brought in to identify qualified accounting professionals with the systems experience, AP expertise, and adaptability needed to support the transition.
Rather than simply screening for ERP experience, Addison Group evaluated candidates on their experience with AP automation platforms, invoice workflows, ERP integrations, and finance transformation initiatives. The team also assessed each candidate’s ability to adapt to the client’s culture and collaborate effectively with the existing accounting team. The goal was to identify professionals who could contribute immediately while helping to establish accurate invoice coding that would enable the AI automation platform to perform as intended. The team also prioritized candidates who could integrate smoothly into the client’s culture and contribute immediately.
Within 24 hours, Addison Group presented qualified candidates to the client. In less than two weeks, the team identified and placed three AP contractors with the right AI automation experience to help keep the implementation on track.
Results
With Addison Group’s support, the franchise group completed the implementation project in four months. As the work progressed and the client’s needs changed, Addison Group helped scale the contractor team down, reducing costs while maintaining project continuity.
The success of the project strengthened the client’s trust in Addison Group and led to additional permanent finance and accounting placements across their accounting, revenue, and property teams.
