Job Description:
The Director of Vocational Supports will oversee the strategic direction, daily operations, and overall performance of the organization’s vocational programming. This is a highly visible leadership role focused on staff development, program quality, and participant outcomes. The Director will lead a multi-layered team while ensuring services align with organizational values, regulatory requirements, and best practices in supported employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for vocational support programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes
- Manage and support a leadership team responsible for vocational managers and direct support staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth across all staff levels
- Oversee program operations including compliance, documentation, budgeting support, and performance monitoring
- Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and employers to expand employment opportunities
- Serve as a key point of contact for external stakeholders and community partners
- Ensure participant rights, safety, and individualized employment goals are upheld
- Guide job development, placement, and ongoing support strategies for participants
- Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management initiatives
- Promote effective use of internal systems and technology to support program operations
Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of experience in program leadership, operations, or people management
- Proven ability to lead large teams (10+ employees), including managers or supervisors
- Experience in developmental disabilities services or DDA-supported programs is strongly preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree required (field of study flexible; behavioral sciences, social work, psychology, or related areas preferred)
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, people-centered environment
Additional Details:
- Full-time, exempt role
- On-site position (5 days per week)
- Reports to senior leadership
