Compensation: $115,000 – $125,000 Base + Performance Bonus

About the Opportunity
A growing energy infrastructure company is seeking a Commercial & Industrial Accounts Manager to lead business development efforts focused on large-scale natural gas infrastructure projects across Texas.
This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing commercial and industrial energy infrastructure opportunities, working with major industrial users and municipalities to deliver turnkey natural gas solutions.
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, proactive, and motivated to pursue large, complex deals that require coordination between customers, infrastructure providers, and internal engineering and finance teams.
Role Overview
The Commercial & Industrial Accounts Manager will drive projects from initial opportunity identification through deal structuring and long-term account management.
The company has extensive experience building and operating natural gas infrastructure and is seeking someone dedicated to expanding its commercial and industrial portfolio.
Projects may include:
- Natural gas infrastructure supporting large manufacturing facilities
- Development of high-pressure steel pipeline systems
- Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure for vehicle fleets
- Pipelines supporting municipal bus fleets and commercial transportation
- Energy infrastructure for industrial operations with large natural gas demand
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new commercial and industrial natural gas opportunities
- Develop relationships with large industrial users, manufacturers, municipalities, and fleet operators
- Structure infrastructure deals involving long-term natural gas supply agreements
- Manage projects from opportunity sourcing through execution
- Maintain client relationships throughout the life of the infrastructure project
- Collaborate with internal teams including finance, estimating, and project management
- Utilize internal financial models to evaluate project viability and structure deals
- Support development of financial pro formas and project assumptions
Example Project Structure
In many cases, the company develops turnkey infrastructure solutions for customers. For example:
- An industrial customer requires a new pipeline connection
- The company taps into an existing transmission pipeline
- Infrastructure is built and funded by the company
- The customer commits to a long-term natural gas purchase agreement
Required Experience
- Strong business development or strategic sales experience
- Experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Natural gas
- Energy infrastructure
- Utilities
- Gas marketing
- Industrial energy supply
- Understanding of natural gas markets, infrastructure, and supply dynamics
- Ability to work with financial models and project economics
- Experience managing complex, long-cycle deals
Preferred Experience
- Gas marketing experience (buying and selling natural gas as a commodity)
- Infrastructure or pipeline development experience
- Experience structuring energy or infrastructure agreements
- Knowledge of industrial energy consumption or large commercial energy users
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.
Team Structure
- Reports to the VP of Business Development
- Acts as the primary Commercial & Industrial business development lead
- Works closely with:
- Finance
- Estimating
- Engineering and project teams
- Internal business units that may generate project leads
Location & Travel
This position can be based in Houston, Austin, or Dallas–Fort Worth, with flexibility depending on the candidate’s location.
Because this is a business development role, travel across Texas is expected to meet with customers, partners, and project stakeholders.
