Staff Accountant – AR Focus
A long-standing, reputable organization in Arlington is adding a Staff Accountant to its accounting department. This is a direct-hire role offering strong stability, a collaborative team environment, and excellent benefits. The team is looking to move quickly, with interviews kicking off next week.
Role Overview
This position plays a key role in managing Accounts Receivable and supporting daily accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will handle cash applications, customer billing, reconciliations, membership revenue processes, and fixed asset tracking. You’ll join a tight-knit team of five and report directly to the Accounting Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Apply and record all incoming payments: checks, cash, credit cards, ACH, and EFTs
- Manage full-cycle AR including invoicing, payment monitoring, and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare daily and weekly bank deposits
- Maintain accurate AR aging and reconcile customer accounts
- Enter fixed assets into Sage Intacct and maintain depreciation schedules
- Assist with membership billing and revenue recognition (training available)
- Contribute to month-end close, focusing on AR-related tasks
- Partner with internal teams and support a positive team culture
Ideal Background
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with heavy AR exposure
- Strong reconciliation skills and comfort with high-volume cash activity
- Experience with ACH, credit card processing, and client account reconciliation
- Sage Intacct exposure is a plus (not required)
- Familiarity with membership revenue or subscription-based billing is helpful
- Solid Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (international degrees welcome)
- Team-oriented, proactive, detail-focused, and strong communication skills
Compensation & Perks
- Salary: $60K–$65K
- Bonus: Up to $5K annually based on performance

Work Environment
