Must-Have Qualifications
- Nonprofit industry experience (required)
- Experience with Sage Intacct
- Full-cycle accounting capabilities (AP, AR, GL, JE posting, bank reconciliations)
- Experience managing fixed assets
- Grants knowledge
- Strong communication and ability to operate independently
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with AI tools or automations
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Prior success in contract/consulting roles
Role Overview
This accountant will play a key role on a finance team of ~20 professionals. The role supports full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close tasks, and asset management. The organization is undergoing a restructure, and the individual stepping into this role will help stabilize and support updated processes and workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 4+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
- Strong technical background in full-cycle accounting
- Confident communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
- Ability to quickly adapt and contribute in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting
Daily Responsibilities Include
- Process AP/AR transactions and prepare journal entries
- Perform account reconciliations and support month-end close
- Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Assist senior accountants and leadership with reporting projects
- Support process improvements and organizational initiatives
