Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of a growing organization. This role is responsible for core accounting activities including accounts payable, payroll auditing, reconciliations, and general ledger support. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a customer-service mindset when partnering with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing
- Process a mix of routine and complex invoices with accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation
- Audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and reconciliation to the general ledger
- Perform general accounting functions including:
- Prepaid expenses
- Investments
- Fixed assets (capitalization threshold greater than $2,500)
- Accrued expenses and liabilities
- Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations with supporting schedules and documentation
- Perform daily and monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with standard financial reporting and internal data requests
- Support vendor onboarding, documentation, and classification processes
- Assist with external, internal, and regulatory audits as requested
- Maintain organized digital accounting and financial records
- Provide administrative and accounting support to finance leadership
- Support tasks such as expense reimbursements, issue tracking, and ad hoc departmental needs
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Experience with full-cycle accounts payable and general accounting
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliation processes
- High level of accuracy, organization, and time management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools preferred
