A well-established organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support financial operations and ensure the accuracy and timely completion of accounting activities. Job Description:
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing financial information, researching discrepancies, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting the month-end closing process. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine cash and financial reports to identify discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
- Investigate outstanding accounting issues and ensure corrections are properly completed and documented.
- Manage accounting-related service requests through resolution and closure.
- Track store-level reporting to ensure all required items are completed before the monthly financial close.
- Prepare and record journal entries when required.
- Coordinate with various accounting and operational departments to research transactions and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Communicate with field leadership and operational personnel to gather information and address accounting-related questions.
- Analyze financial data and investigate unusual or inconsistent activity.
- Maintain organized documentation supporting accounting adjustments and resolutions.
- Assist with month-end activities and other accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- 0-1 years of experience in accounting related role preferred.
- Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to research issues and follow through until resolution.
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple departments and levels of an organization.
- Previous experience in accounting, reconciliation, financial operations, or a related field is preferred.
