February labor report: US economy sheds 92,000 jobs
The US economy lost 92,000 new jobs in February, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate inched up to 4.4% compared to 4.3% in January.

Healthcare decreased by 28,000 roles, likely due to strike activity, marking the first time the healthcare sector has lost jobs since 2022.
Government saw a loss of 6,000, while professional and business services dropped 5,000 roles, and leisure and hospitality declined by 27,000 roles.
