Location: Johnstown, CO / Denver Metro
Schedule: Monday–Friday, onsite at the project
Compensation: $100,000–$150,000 base + 8% annual bonus
- 8% annual bonus

- 2 weeks PTO to start
- 3 weeks PTO after one year
- Additional PTO increases with tenure
About the Opportunity
A growing construction company specializing in multifamily residential construction is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join its team in the Denver area.
This is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for coordinating day-to-day construction activities, subcontractors, materials, quality, safety, and — most importantly — the project schedule.
The ideal candidate has experience with multifamily or commercial construction and understands how to build, maintain, and actively manage a construction schedule throughout the life of a project.

The Role
The Superintendent will initially be assigned to a multifamily project in Johnstown, CO for approximately 5–6 months. Following completion of the initial project, the Superintendent may transition to other projects based on company needs.
You will work closely with the Project Manager and potentially a Project Engineer to keep the project moving safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead day-to-day field operations and maintain overall responsibility for project execution.
- Coordinate all field activities to ensure the project progresses according to plans, specifications, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Coordinate multiple subcontractors, deliveries, and construction activities simultaneously.
Scheduling
- Build and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Actively manage the schedule throughout the project and identify potential delays before they impact the project.
- Coordinate subcontractor sequencing and material deliveries.
- Maintain CPM schedules and provide regular schedule updates.
- Participate in OAC and project coordination meetings.
- Develop and manage short-term and long-term look-ahead schedules.
Safety
- Conduct subcontractor safety orientations.
- Ensure subcontractors follow required safety procedures and regulations.
- Complete weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Quality Control
- Ensure construction meets plans, specifications, and established quality standards.
- Conduct daily unit and subcontractor inspections.
- Coordinate required permitting and inspections.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve field productivity.
Subcontractor & Field Team Management
- Coordinate and enforce subcontractor agreements.
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Provide field oversight and direction to assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other field personnel as applicable.
- Coordinate subcontractor sequencing and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Monitor workmanship and address deficiencies proactively.
Project Administration
- Maintain daily reports, timesheets, purchase records, progress photos, meeting minutes, and deficiency logs.
- Track project requirements and changes.
- Maintain site logistics plans and project deficiency lists.
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager on project progress, issues, and changes.
Owner & Project Team Relationships
- Maintain strong working relationships with project owners and project management.
- Communicate project status, schedule concerns, and field issues proactively.
- Participate in project meetings and provide accurate field updates.
Project Closeout
- Drive projects through completion and final acceptance.
- Coordinate punch-list activities and final corrections.
- Work with owners, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure timely project closeout.
What We're Looking For
Required / Preferred Experience:
- Approximately 5+ years of Superintendent experience preferred; candidates with less experience may be considered based on relevant experience.
- Multifamily and/or commercial construction experience strongly preferred.
- Strong project scheduling experience is critical.
- Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and actively manage construction schedules.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction activities.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, sequencing, and field operations.
- Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Project Engineers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel.
Important Background Consideration
This role is focused on multifamily and commercial construction. Candidates whose experience is primarily large-scale tract home construction may not be a strong fit, as the project environment and construction processes differ significantly.
Technology
- Procore experience is a plus.
- Bluebeam experience is a plus.
- Experience with any construction scheduling software is helpful.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with schedules are important.
An engineering degree is not required.
Scheduling Assessment
Because scheduling is such an important part of this position, candidates will complete a practical scheduling exercise during the interview process.
The exercise will involve:
- Reviewing a set of construction plans.
- Using an Excel template.
- Developing a 50-activity construction schedule.
- Demonstrating an understanding of sequencing, durations, dependencies, and overall project scheduling.
Work Location
The initial project is located in Johnstown, Colorado, approximately 45 minutes from Denver.
The Superintendent must be comfortable working onsite Monday–Friday and commuting to the project location.
Following the initial project, assignments may vary based on project and company needs.
