Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accrual-based accounting, and advanced Excel capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining accurate financial records.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analyze account activity.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Prepare operational and financial reports for management review.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with accounting for fixed assets, capital expenditures, and asset tracking.
- Support compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audit activities and provide requested documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist with local tax filings, reporting requirements, and other compliance-related activities.
- Respond to financial information requests from various internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting principles.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- VLOOKUPs
- INDEX/MATCH functions
- Experience working with general ledger systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments.
- Exposure to tax compliance, reporting, and audit support activities.
