Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant II to support a stable, long-tenured accounting team within a privately held real estate organization. This role is responsible for full-cycle property accounting, financial reporting, and tenant account management across a diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a track record of longevity in previous roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of property operating statements, journal entries, and monthly accruals.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Research and resolve inquiries from senior management during monthly and quarterly reporting cycles.
- Prepare tax and operating expense recovery billings.
- Abstract lease documents and maintain accurate financial data within the accounting system.
- Review and post monthly fixed charges and issue courtesy statements.
- Apply cash to tenant accounts and communicate with tenants regarding billing or account questions.
- Collaborate with property management, collections, and other internal teams to resolve tenant-related inquiries.
- Assist with training and onboarding of team members.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and additional accounting assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or property management experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated tenure and reliability in past roles.
- CPA certification is a plus.
