Job Description:
A growing organization is seeking a GL Accounting Manager to join its expanding accounting team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing general ledger operations, leading the close process, and supporting financial reporting and process improvement initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong leadership capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and experience managing complex accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
- Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses
- Oversee accounting related to fixed assets, inventory, and revenue transactions
- Partner cross-functionally with finance and operational teams to support reporting accuracy and cost allocation processes
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and support compliance initiatives
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Support process improvement initiatives within a growing and evolving accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience required
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills required
- ERP system experience required; JD Edwards experience preferred
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting processes highly preferred
- Experience supporting audits and working in fast-paced environments preferred
- Strong communication skills with an adaptable and team-oriented personality
Additional Details:
- Hybrid schedule with onsite expectations Tuesday through Thursday
- Position includes approximately 10–15 hours of overtime weekly
