Multi-Billion-Dollar REIT Taps Addison to Solve IT Staffing Issues

A multi-billion-dollar Real Estate Investment Trust was experiencing a three-fold increase in their diversified property portfolio. They needed IT staffing assistance to build an internal Application Development team to rewrite and implement a next generation marketing and leasing platform.

The Challenge: No Consistency in IT

The client’s software platform, used to support business-critical marketing and leasing efforts, was outsourced and built by various consulting firms. The resources at these firms constantly changed, leaving the client with no true knowledge base of their own critical tools. The platform consisted of two integrated applications built using a variety of technologies. It wasn’t scalable and struggled with numerous performance issues. Additionally, it was unable to keep up with the portfolio and the company’s exponential growth.

The client’s IT leaders also struggled to gain buy-in from the business side of the organization. They were hesitant to spend the money, adapt to the latest technology, and make significant changes to a platform critical to all facets of their business. They needed IT leaders who could take on the task.

The Addison Solution: IT Staffing in Phases

Addison Group met with the client’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and VP of Application Development to develop a multi-phase staffing plan. This included identifying the roles and skillsets needed to rewrite the software platform, outlining project timelines, and forecasting the total cost of each resource. Addison assisted the client in developing a presentation illustrating the internal benefits and cost-effectiveness of transitioning from a consulting model to contract-to-hire/direct-hire model.

Addison Group was able to staff the first and second phase of the project. Phase one included staffing two .Net Architects, two .Net Developers to upgrade their existing software. Additionally, Addison staffed one Senior Program Manager to build out their newly implemented Project Management Office.

Phase two included staffing four Quality Assurance Engineers, three Business Analysts, one Principal Software Engineer, and two Scrum Master/Project Managers. They would streamline the two integrated applications into a single robust next generation platform to test new features and enhancements.

The client was able to put hours back into the day of their employees by automating several marketing and leasing reports that were previously run manually each day.

The Addison Difference: Thousands Saved with Contract IT Staffing

Addison Group’s performance and proven results made them a key player on the client’s team. Partnering with Addison Group, the client saved thousands of dollars by eliminating multi-year contracts in just six months. The client developed a strong internal knowledge base of their new software application by developing the platform with internal employees rather than depending on third party support.

Addison Group continues to provide this multi-billion-dollar client with top talent and has been for more than a decade. We look forward to our continued partnership with them.
