The US economy added 64,000 new jobs in November, according to the delayed report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The unemployment rate climbed to 4.6%, its highest since September 2021.

Abbreviated data from the BLS shows 105,000 jobs were lost in October.
Healthcare continued to lead the hiring, adding 46,000 jobs, while professional and business services added 12,000 jobs in November.
Federal government cut 6,000 roles, following October’s loss of 162,000 jobs as deferred layoffs earlier this year took effect. Since January, federal government employment has been down by 271,000 jobs.
