Payroll Accountant

Location: Reston Region
Service Area: FA: Payroll Specialist
Job Type: Contract To Hire

Our client, located in the Northern Virginia area, is looking for a contract to hire payroll specialist to start immediately. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' payroll experience, full cycle processing for over 500 employees. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for over 800 employees utilizing Costpoint/ADP 
  • Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll 
  • Maintain and document payroll records 
  • Utilize Costpoint T&E 
  • Conduct semi-annual audits of all payroll records 
  • Reconcile general ledger with regard to payroll transactions 
  • Detect and process issues related to uncollected payroll 
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns 



  • BS Degree in accounting  
  • Minimum 3 years' payroll experience
  • Experience in Costpoint and ADP 
  • Intermediate Excel skills 
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal
