November 2022 Labor Report Recap

According to the recent jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the United States job market is still growing, with 263,000 nonfarm jobs added in November 2022. This level shows a slight increase versus last month’s findings. However, the unemployment rate remains unchanged at 3.7 percent.

The industries that saw the greatest gains in jobs were leisure and hospitality, healthcare, and government.

Even though there was an increase in leisure and hospitality jobs by 88,000, employment in this industry is still below its pre-pandemic levels by 5.8 percent.

Although the number of new jobs is lower than last year, the job market is still moving in a good direction as we approach the new year.
