We are excited to announce that we will be expanding our finance & accounting talent solutions offering to Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas led by Maggie Burns with direction from Brian Bednarek! We recently sat down with Maggie to learn more about this process, why she is looking forward to this next chapter in her career at Addison Group, and her goals for the Atlanta office expansion.
What are you most proud of during your journey with Addison Group?
It’s an honor to even be considered for this opportunity to expand the Addison Group footprint. I’m most proud of making the transition from a Recruiter to BDM during the beginning of the pandemic. It was difficult to learn a new role during challenging times and learn while working remotely. I took initiative to plan my days thoughtfully, and learn independently through Addison resources and external sales podcasts and books. I’m proud of how far I have come in my career with Addison Group and the challenges I’ve overcome.
What are you most excited about starting this new office location in Atlanta?
I’m very excited about going to an untouched market. Since I started at Addison Group, I’ve been hearing Brian’s narrative about how he came to Boston to expand the Addison footprint, and now I’m experiencing that journey myself. I’ve had the goal of becoming a manager since I started at Addison Group and having the opportunity to do so in Atlanta is a major achievement of mine.
What are your main goals with this new initiative?
The sky is the limit! From my time in Boston sitting with Brian I’ve learned that a ‘people-first, process second’ approach is what separates Addison from our competition. I’ll take this mindset when training and developing my team and when developing relationships with clients and candidates.
What sets Addison Group’s finance and accounting talent solutions apart from the rest?
We take the time to understand the client and their team, their hiring need, and to build a relationship. We value the relationship with our clients and again take the time to understand their business problem and the full picture to ensure we’re making a successful match with the right candidate.
What is the biggest career lesson you’ve learned so far?
Take your time. There’s of course a time and place to drive the hiring process but taking the time to have a meeting (virtual or in-person!) to discuss the client’s current opening and getting to know the company culture is crucial for finding the right talent. It may take extra time and effort, but it pays off in the end.
What is one thing you want your clients and candidates to know about Addison’s culture?
It all comes back to ‘people-first, process second.’ Plain and simple, everyone is always willing to help. It’s all hands-on deck with a collaborative culture and we are all constantly learning from each other. We bring those values to clients and candidates as well and we offer a well-rounded service to educate our clients on the market.
