We are excited to announce that Addison Group will be expanding our finance & accounting talent solutions offering to Atlanta, Georgia and its surrounding areas! Brian Bednarek, Branch Manager of our Boston office, will be overseeing the launch and serving as a mentor for recently promoted Branch Manager Maggie Burns. Recently we sat down with Brian to hear his thoughts on this next step in his career at Addison and his role in the Atlanta office expansion.
What are you most proud of during your journey with Addison Group?
Being with Addison Group throughout our massive growth over the last ten years, many things come to mind, but the moments that stand out always involve people development. I’m extremely proud of the practice and culture that we’ve built in Boston but promoting Maggie to open Atlanta is certainly one of my proudest Addison moments. It’s been a pleasure to be involved in her professional growth and development.
What are you most excited about starting this new office location in Atlanta?
I’m excited to start that process in a new city and partner with Maggie to hire, train, and develop an exceptional team of staffing professionals aspiring to be the premiere Finance and Accounting firm in the Atlanta market. One of the more rewarding aspects of this job is relationship building: internally with my teammates and externally with Finance and Accounting professionals.
What are your main goals with this new initiative?
A short-term goal is to provide Maggie and her team with the resources to succeed in a new market. My long-term goal is to earn the trust of accounting and finance professionals in the Atlanta market and become their go-to accounting and finance talent solutions provider.
What sets Addison Group’s finance and accounting talent solutions apart from the rest?
Our approach to the business is simple – people first, process second. We’re committed to understanding who you are and what you’re looking for to ensure we’re making a successful match on both sides. We take the time to understand the unique accounting or finance challenges our clients face and help find the right talent solutions for those roles. We also work with our candidates to build long-term careers and find long-term homes for our clients.
What is the biggest career lesson you’ve learned so far?
I launched the Boston Finance & Accounting – Contract practice in 2015 and overcoming the adversities and challenges that come with opening a new market is something I look back fondly on. Addison Group and my mentor Jay Houston provided me with the autonomy to fail and learn from my mistakes. Obviously, those stressful moments can feel overwhelming, but looking back at those moments, I value those most because they helped me grow professionally and personally.
What is one thing you want your clients and candidates to know about Addison’s culture?
We value the impact of what we’re doing on both sides of the coin. From a hiring manager’s perspective, it can impact their career if they make the wrong hire. On the candidate’s side, if they make the bad career decision to join a particular organization, it has long term impact on their career. We want to ensure that we’re making successful placements and matches that are mutually beneficial to both the candidate and client.
At Addison Group, we’re always on the lookout for top talent. Check out our current openings and become part of our team!
